Advertising affiliate marketing program

Advertising affiliate marketing program allows participants to create their own text-ads, select the websites to display them on and pay only when a customer clicks through to your site. Sometimes it is possible to start receiving new prospects in less than 10 minutes.

An advertiser, also known as a merchant or retailer, is a Web site or company that sells a product or service online, accepts payments and fulfills orders trough an advertising affiliate marketing program. Advertisers' partners are publishers who help promote the products and services. Publishers place advertisers' ads, text links, or product links on their Web sites that are registered in the advertising affiliate marketing program or include them in e-mail campaigns and search listings and receive money from commissions either for leads or for sales.

Large advertising networks are more preferable as participants' ad listings instantly appear on their affiliated websites that have related content to the products or services of the advertising affiliate marketing program. Contextual advertising – a type of advertising affiliate marketing program - means that the advertisement is only shown on a website that is "in context" to its specific product or service. Online advertising technology works by publishing a text and/or rich media advertisement (flash banners etc) on the relevant websites that best match the selected targeted keywords or channels.
Advertising affiliate marketing programs use the channel solely as a means to increase traffic and brand awareness. A program managed as a sales channel makes the affiliate a sales partner, rewards his/her efforts to drive sales, and focuses on ways to help affiliates sell more.

Advertisers mainly practice three Cost-Per-Acquisition (CPA) models: "Pay Per Click", "Pay Per Lead" or "Pay Per Sale".  Which one is more profitable depends on the particular advertising affiliate marketing program and the participant's preferences.
