Become an affiliate
When you are tired at the end of a day of work and you are taking a moment to sit back in your favorite chair in the living room and ponder the day’s events. Don’t you ever wonder if there is a “better way?” Well, there is a better way to make some easy money without doing anything more than talking! I’m talking about how easy it is to become an affiliate.
An affiliate is a partner, a co-interested party, if you will, in a business venture. Typically, this venture is mutually beneficial to both parties and, in some cases, all involved parties. There are programs available on the internet that will allow you to become an affiliate simply for the asking. If you are interested in making money without having to do the 9-5 thing all the time, look into the affiliates.
Typically associated with radio or television stations, the affiliate programs with various promoters of products and services offer many different types of incentive programs. There is the pay –per- click programs that pay you, the website owner for each “click” that is received from your website to theirs. There is also the great commission structure offered by many online retailers that pays for each actual sale that is generated. This is usually a very generous pay structure as many of the “leads” may not pan out. There is also the Pay-per-lead program that rewards you simply for “pointing” a lead in their direction.
Whichever program you choose to become an affiliate with, make sure that there is a balance between the actual content on your web and the advertisers, or affiliates you have posted. In addition, there might be something to be said for a contrasting balance. If your target audience is that of a blue collar crowd (maybe your favorite site is joecomdey.com) then you might want to work with two affiliates, one that would match this audience and their interests, and one for those closet comedians of the white collar work force.
When you begin working with a company, they will probably send you a confirmation email along with the rules for being an affiliate with them. For example, if you are an affiliate with a television channel provider, they most often do not want any direct advertising done with their name or logo used by the affiliate. This is said to be misleading and deceitful business practice. They may also stipulate that you use a specific “promo code” to distinguish yourself and help them in actually tracking your sales, leads, or whatever. Ensuring that your customers understand the importance of the “promo code” is the only thing that is going to get you paid!
This is real money with real benefits. There are few things in life one can do that is so simple and practical. Make sure that you understand and abide by all of the companies requirements. You are acting as an affiliate, or partner of this company and as important as your reputation is to you, theirs is to them. |
