E-commerce affiliate program

Now that purchasing and selling via-internet (e-commerce) is in its hay day and a growing number of people are searching for goods online, there are more and more e-shops appearing every day. E-commerce affiliate programs give buyers an opportunity to learn about where to look for the products they need and hence makes sales more effective.

The main idea of  e-commerce affiliate program is internet advertising and promotion. Program partners (affiliates) act as intermediaries, linking potential buyers to the online stores where the latter can purchase production/services. It is a new variant of the practice of paying a finder's fee for the introduction of new clients to a business. Commissions may be paid by the e-commerce affiliate program based on a certain value for each visit (Pay per click), registrant (Pay per lead), or a commission for each customer or sale, depending on the revenue the participants generate for the company (Pay per sale ), or any combination.

Companies wishing to start an e-commerce affiliate program add themselves to the list of an online affiliate program directory/affiliate network (work with both affiliates and merchants), where they can be easily found by those who want to become a partner (an affiliate) of such a program. To become a member of an e-commerce affiliate program means to place a link of a company/store on one's personal web site, so that visitors could be redirected to the main site. In most cases having a web-site is important but not a requirement - one can include a text link in personal e-mails. All the links, "doorways" etc. provided by the partner-company. Although becoming a member of an affiliate program is quite easy, many companies have their own policy of what web-sites to exclude, for instance those spamming or those having illegal or other questionable materials.

All the customer service issues, including financial are handled by a company. Program partners (affiliates) are responsible for marketing the supplements.
