Now that purchasing and selling via-internet (e-commerce) is in its hay day and a growing number of people are searching for goods online, there are more and more e-shops appearing every day. To become a member of an e-commerce affiliate program means to place a link of a company/store on one's personal web site, so that visitors could be redirected to the main site. In most cases having a web-site is important but not a requirement - one can include a text link in personal e-mails. All the links, "doorways" etc. provided by the partner-company. Although becoming a member of an affiliate program is quite easy, many companies have their own policy of what web-sites to exclude, for instance those spamming or those having illegal or other questionable materials.
